CHINESE CRESTED
For over 3000 years CHINESE CRESTED have been around. There are two types: HAIRLESS with hair only on its head, feet and tail and soft smooth skin. Then there is the POWDER-PUFF with a silky coat all over its body.

Lively and spirited, the Chinese Crested is a versatile companion, and an excellent choice whether your event is AKC conformation shows, obedience trials, agility, or tracking . They have also been known to excel in lure coursing, as well as other events. Quite unlike others of the toy class, the Crested is a non-yapper. Clownish and animated, this little dog delights in being with their owners, whether they’re playing a game of ball or watching the game on TV. The Chinese Crested is a wonderful and unique companion. Give them the proper love and care they are so deserving of, and you will be rewarded with affection and loyalty for many years to come.

Chinese Crested History
The Chinese Crested originated in Africa where they were called "African Hairless Terriers." It is commonly believed, that the Chinese trading ships stopped along Africa on their routes, and it was there that they picked up these dogs because they were excellent ratters for aboard their ships. They renamed the dogs "Chinese Crested" and the name stuck.

Recent DNA studies has shown that the dog have no correlation or genetic relation to the Mexican Hairless Dog or the Chihuahua, which was previously widely believed. The DNA test also approved that the dog is closely related to the Basenji, which is of African origin.

The Chinese Crested was officially recognized by the FCI in 1987,in the UK Kennel Club in 1981 and by the American Kennel Club in 1991. The USA parent club is the American Chinese Crested Club.

The winner of the 2007 World's Ugliest Dog Contest held at the Sonoma-Marin county fair in California was a Chinese Crested-Chihuahua mixed breed dog named Elwood. The winner of the 2006 competition was a Chinese Crested named Archie.

Yorkshire Terrier
The Yorkshire Terrier, (diminutive / nickname: Yorkie), is a small dog breed in the toy category. The long-haired terrier is known for its playful demeanor and distinctive blue and tan coat . Yorkies can be very small, usually weighing between 5 and 7 pounds (2.5 to 3.5 kilograms) occasionally changeling Chi hua hua as a smallest breed.

Terrier Legacy
The Yorkie was bred as a ratter, used to kill mice and rats in small places. As a hunting group, terriers specialize in pursuing animals (usually vermin) that live in dens or burrows. Animals that are cornered and defending their young will fight ferociously. Therefore, any dog that would willingly pursue them must have an extraordinary degree of courage; terriers are bred for that quality. The Yorkshire Terrier, with its feisty temperament, is no exception.
